Abstract:
This paper is based on the theoretical framework that teaching and learning are for the promotion of human value, sustenance of culture and social awareness in societies without restriction or categorization. The contextual meaning of teaching and learning in a gender stereotyped situation is given and the nature of teaching and learning ill (I gender stereotyped society is examined. Gender stereotyping and its implication to teaching and learning ill society are also examined. To sum it up, the paper provides the way forward for the improvement of teaching and learning in a gender stereotyped society. The paper maintains that teaching and learning are social factors that should cut across gender and grow beyond the boundaries of gender categorization; therefore, it should be accessible to all; both male and female.
