Revitalizing Principals Managerial Behaviours for Effective Secondary School Administration in Nigeria

Abstract

Managerial behaviours of secondary school principals are very important as a determining factor in effectiveness of school. Some problems of principals managerial behaviour on school effectiveness in secondary schools include problems of interpersonal relationship, Motivation, Communication, Decision- making, Supervision, Leadership style and Discipline. This paper therefore, examined principals managerial behaviours and school effectiveness, responsibilities of a principals as leader, also explored are some managerial behaviours of principals as a leader such as principal interpersonal relationship and school effectiveness, principals motivation strategies to teaching and learning and school effectiveness, principals methods of communication and school effectiveness, principals Decision-making strategies and school effectiveness, principals methods of supervision and school effectiveness, principals leadership styles and school effectiveness, and also discussed are principals methods of discipline
