THE ACTIVITY OF HISBAH IN CRIME CONTROL IN GORONYO LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Abstract

In the name of Almighty Allah the most gracious, the most merciful, all praise be to Allah, peace and blessing of Almighty Allah be upon his noble prophet Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Mutalib (SAW), and members of his family and companion as well as those who follow his foot path. It is believed that, Hisbah is a commission which originated from the time of our noble prophet Muhammad (SAW) for the purpose of fighting criminal acts in the society, in trying to understand this we have to know the meaning of Islam and Shariah. Islam is an Arabic word which denotes submission, surrender and obedience. As a religion Islam stand as complete submission and obedience to Allah (SAW), that is why it is called Islam. The other literal meaning of the word “Islam” is “Peace”
