The main thrust of this paper is to examine how education and or value re- orientation can lead to the attainment of sustainable development in Nigeria. The paper conceptually clarifies key concepts, such as education, values and value re-orientation against the background of their role in the attainment of national development. The paper believes that Nigeria's educational system remains a key factor in attaining value reorientation for national development. It goes further to describe how to attain value re-orientation through our educational system. It is on this basis that the paper made some recommendations, one of which include, all schools in Nigeria should be standardized through the provision of adequate instructional facilities.
