dc.description.abstract A three-year-old rottweiler cross dog was presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto with alopecia, pruritus and restlessness. Examination ofthe animal on presentation revealed the presence ofectoparasite of humans (Pulex irritansi. This rare finding has public health significance in this part of the country where pet keeping is gaining acceptance; Pulex lrritans infestation of dogs in Sokoto is being reported for the first time. en_US
