An
experiment
was
conducted
to assess
the
response
ofbroiler
starters
fed
diets
with
high
inclusion
levels
of wheat
offal
(250gkil)
supplemented
with
graded
levels
of
garlic
Allium
sativum.
The
trial
lasted
for
four
weeks.
Garlic
was
incorporated
into
fibre
basal
diet
at 3 levels
of 0.75,
1.5 and
3.0gkg-
l
.
Results
showed
that
the
chickens
fed
on l.Sgkg'
garlic
diet
consumed
less
feed
and
had
heavier
live
weight
with
better
feed
conversion
efficiency
than
those
on 0, 0.75
and
3.0
gkg'
levels
of garlic.
It can
therefore
be concluded
that
incorporating
garlic
at l.Sgkg'
into
diets
with
high
levels
of wheat
offal
(250
gkg')
could
support
growth. |
